Band Assignment- junior

Part. 1

The International School of Kuala Lumpur provides and exceptional education that challenges each students to develop the attitudes, skills knowledge and understanding to become a (Silence) highly successful spirited socially responsible global citizen.

I feel that adding a silence after the world "a" creates the best tension. when you add a VOID before the concluding part you might have some questions. As an example what is going on?, what might happen after the silence?. It also makes the paragraph interesting, as you add a void just before conclusion, you might start to think about an answer (release).

Part. 2

There are plenty of the strategies that composer can create tension and release in their music. One of them is composers can start the music with low and soft pitch, then put void in the beginning of conclusion, after that create release with a extremely loud tone, to make sure that audience get surprised after the boring beginning.

New year Resolution..

Year 2009 has passed.... And the new year, 2010 is here
To spend another new year with fun and meaningfully, there needs some new year's resolutions. I have made several resolutions for another year.

First, I will absolutely improve on my writing skills, so I can join Humanities without any supports. To practice this, I need to read more books that has good word choices, and keep write example sentences to make sure that I can use the words in a appropriate way.

Second, I would try to improve on my soccer ball control, controlling the speed, etc. Even I would not refuse to do harsh trainings. To conquest my defects, I need to practice on those regularly. Talk about my fault and improvement with my helpers around me.

Lastly I want to get along with students who have various kinds of cultures and skin colors, etc. If I would get along with friends who have different nationalities, i would be able to learn about new culture and share our with them, and also communicate better than before as well.

half way done with grade 6!!!!!

I have made social and academical achievements while half way of the school year went through. For academical achievement, I learned about early humans,their life style, Sumerians, and four empires of Mesopotamia in humanities class, which is one of my favorite classes. There's lot more achievements than above. And one of my social goals is during lunch time or free time, I have made new friends.I played soccer with them as well. From playing soccer, I could cooperate with them.

I learned many skills from various subjects. In humanity support, I've learned new skills; how to write sentence with new structures From P.E. class, we've went through many enjoyable units. The most recent one is I've realized how to use some appropriate skills during basketball games.

I've learned many skills this semester, but I think I still need to learn some other skills. I want to learn how to sprint properly in Track & field unit, which will be next unit after semester break. In humanities class Iwant to learn some other grammar skills that will improve my writing.

With skills that I want to learn, I have a goals that I can work on for rest of my 6th grade year and new year. First during the new year, i would like to do exercises regularly, so I can keep health.
Second for the rest of the grade 6, I would like to improve on my English skills and join the humanities class without Humanity support.
Last, I really want to challenge my self to participate 100m, 200m and relay on ISAKL, then break a school record.

Final Literature Circle Discussion~~

I liked the novel named "Thunder Cave".
It was great to read it, because It was my favorite genre; adventure.
And it wasn't boring at all,
because there was always trouble in each chapter, while I was reading, it puzzled me "What will happen in next page".
After I finished reading, I was quite impressed that Jacob have made an incredible journey to meet his father.

In the book there were tons of my favorite parts.
If I need to choose one, I would say when Jacob stole his own bike from gang of Kenyans, and they were following him. The reason why I like about the part is
it thrilled me, influenced me to think about what would happen in the next page as well. As I guessed, Jacob got out of trouble.



I think the novel tells us something really important.
From the reunion of Jacob and his father and Jacob's difficult journey to meet his father, I can tell you that this novel tells that how important family is
and family is worthy enough even you need to risk your own life.
This reminded me family is so valuable enough even I need to risk my life.

I liked working on Literature Circle discussion assignment.
Because I got time to think creatively, which is one of SLR's. It was fun to do it, I got NP at first time though.
I could think creatively, but I believe there was a point that i could improve next time.
First, I need to take more time to think more creative and revise it, because some time I got in a hurry, so I couldn't think creativley and I made some errors as well.
Second, find more examples. It is good to suggest an opinion to group mates, however less examples couldn't convince them.

Next Literature Circle Discussion, I would like to challenge another novel.
I want to challenge "Charlotte Doyle".
The reason why I would like to challenge it is everyone who read that book said
it is fun to read and even my friend (I won't say the name) recommended me to read it next
time. Not only because of friends reconmmendation, but also challenging myself.
Through reading the book I want to see where my reading level is

Literacy Circle Discussion #4

Few days ago...... our group met again for the
fourth time of the Literacy Circle Discussion.
this time The discussion attitude was much better than last week.
which had made Mr. Thomas really disappointed.
We participated on our discussion more seriously than third time, despite this,
One of our group had not finished their homework.
How come all group members can't participate even single day??
I worked on my home work during the weekend
so I could just reflect on Monday and revise it.
but, according to my friends' suggestion my ideas were kind of obvious facts. It was to sad to hear that, actually I deserved it so I can jsut improve on it.

I feel sad to end our discussion next week..~~

Literacy Circle Reflection

Those time was our third literacy circle discussion.
I brougt some questions, responses
However the discussion wasn't satisfying enough.
Actually there were many out of topic discussions meanwhile the discussion. To be honest, third discussion was disappointing.
in other group, they also had same issues with us.
Mr. Thomas disappointed at us.
Plus, I was in a rush to finish the homework.
According to these situation, I got worse ideas than last time.
I think I need to take a time to reflect at my discussion sheet and don't wait until monday night.
Next time, i hope that those behaviour and my attitude won't occur again

Literacy Circle Reflection

On Tues they we had a Literacy Circle Discussion, it was second time to have a Discussion. That time, we brought some more thoughtful questions and discussed about it. I brought some more upgraded thoughtful questions and responses than last time. Others questions and ideas were thought ful too, it was more interesting discussion than the firsttime. Anyway, followings are my questions.
-How would Jacob feel about Kenya after the passage in page 82 to 84?
-What is the symbolism behind Taw and his dream?
-Why is the setting so critical to Jacob in the page 84?
To get these questions I looked into the Thunder cave cautiously and I took a time to get the ideas.
And vocabulary and significant passages as well.
I guess this is how we get thoughtful ideas from the book
If I keep this efforts on it I may get a good grade!!!!
